Who we are

Refer a Deal publishes independent product reviews and lists discounted offers from third-party retailers. You can reach us at contact@refer-a-deal.com.

What we collect

We collect as little as possible:

  • Email address — only if you choose to subscribe to our deal alerts. Used solely to send you that email. Unsubscribe links are in every message.
  • Aggregated usage data — page views, referrers, approximate region and device type, collected through Google Analytics and reported to us only as aggregate statistics, used to understand which pages are useful.

We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Affiliate links and cookies

This site contains affiliate links. When you click one, the retailer or its affiliate network may set a cookie in your browser so that a resulting purchase can be attributed to this site. That cookie is set by the retailer, not by us, and it is what allows us to earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Amazon and other retailers operate under their own privacy policies, which we do not control.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It works through cookies set in your browser and reports aggregate statistics to us; we do not receive your name or contact details from it. Google handles that data under its own privacy policy, and the browser extension Google publishes for this purpose lets you opt out of analytics across every site. You can also control or delete cookies through your browser settings; blocking analytics cookies will not affect how this site works for you.

Third parties we use

  • Our hosting provider, for serving this website
  • Google Analytics, for the aggregated usage data described above
  • Affiliate networks and retailers, for link tracking as described above
  • An email service provider, if you subscribe to deal alerts

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email us and we will action the request within 30 days.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
